Bringing clarity, coherence and scale to a platform serving students, members, academics and industry.

With deep stakeholder research and a mobile-first lens, the goal was to create a site that supports professional development, thought leadership, events and member services—all underpinned by a flexible design system built to evolve.

The Challenge

The Actuaries Institute’s existing website had become complex and fragmented, with multiple audiences, outdated architecture, and an inconsistent brand experience.

Members and students found it difficult to locate relevant content, while events and campaign pages often lived outside the main site, creating confusion and inefficiency. Visually, the brand lacked cohesion across touchpoints, and the mobile experience no longer met the expectations of modern professionals.

The challenge was to design a unified digital platform that could serve diverse audiences, support campaign agility, and reflect the Institute’s authority and ambition within the profession.

The new platform puts the Actuaries Institute in a strong position to elevate how the profession engages online: delivering clearer journeys, campaign agility, brand coherence and future-ready architecture. Through simplified navigation, modular page builds and mobile-optimised experience, the digital foundation is now built for scale and continuous growth.

Our Approach

Our approach began with a clear focus on aligning the brand’s identity with a seamless, high-performing user experience.

We conducted workshops, stakeholder interviews and detailed experience mapping across members, students and industry partners to understand how each audience interacts with the platform. From these insights, we defined journey flows that supported discovery, engagement and access to member services.

We then designed a modular UX architecture that allowed flexible campaign pages, event microsites and content hubs to be created quickly and consistently. A unified design system tied everything together — preserving the Institute’s brand integrity while allowing programs and initiatives to express their individuality.

Every interaction was crafted through a mobile-first lens, ensuring fast load times, intuitive navigation and an experience built for clarity and growth.
