Aruma / Website Design

A redesigned digital experience that delivers on Aruma’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and connection helping more Australians find the support they need.

Project Overview

We partnered with Aruma to redesign their digital platform and create a website that truly puts “You. First.” at the centre of every interaction.

The aim: deliver a mobile-first, accessible, performance-optimised experience for people with disability, their families, support workers and partner organisations, one that reflects Aruma’s human-first brand and wide-reaching service offering across Australia.

The Challenge

The previous website couldn’t keep pace with Aruma’s growth or the needs of its audiences, making it hard for people to find support quickly and easily.

Aruma’s previous site struggled with speed, accessibility and user clarity: multiple audiences including participants, families, employees, and corporate partners made the experience complex, while the design didn’t fully reflect their empathetic brand promise.

The challenge was to create a unified, scalable platform that simplifies access, elevates the brand’s inclusive voice and supports conversion across diverse service pathways.

Our Approach

Our process combined inclusive design thinking with performance-first delivery.

We conducted stakeholder interviews and journey mapping across service users, families and internal teams to understand needs and barriers.

From insights we crafted a modular UX architecture that supports distinct pathways (Participants, Families, Partners) while maintaining consistent navigation and voice.

The design system was built for accessibility (WCAG compliant), fast load times and content clarity — all within a mobile-first framework to meet users wherever they are.

"Wonderful helped us create a digital experience that’s human, inclusive, and true to who we are."

Each service page was designed to make choice and clarity feel effortless, bold colour, inclusive imagery, and accessible layouts help users quickly understand what Aruma offers, whether it’s supported accommodation, respite, or community programs. Consistent templates and clear hierarchy guide users through content while maintaining the warmth and humanity of the brand.

The experience flows seamlessly into a simplified enquiry process that adapts to individual needs, providing clear prompts and confirmation at every step. Together, these elements make it easier for people to find support, build confidence, and take action — all within a platform that feels human, trustworthy, and easy to use.
